Is the Answer to Phone Addiction a Worse Phone?
A small group of people have turned their phone screens to shades of gray to
make them less stimulating. That's the opposite of what tech companies
want.

Subject: Verizon expected to expand media business
By Martha DeGrasse
Verizon's go90 mobile video service has not been a runaway success,
but nonetheless, the company is reportedly set to expand its content
business this year. One of the media properties owned by Verizon,
TechCrunch, is reporting that the carrier wants to add a new
"over-the-top" video service, as well as a connected home platform for
internet of things applications.
Sports is a likely area for Verizon's expansion, since the carrier
recently signed a deal to stream NFL games live. Through Yahoo and
Yahoo Sports, in addition to go90 and the NFL mobile app, Verizon can
stream NFL games on all major mobile networks in the U.S.

Subject: Verizon-Huawei pact reportedly hit by political pressure
A possible deal to sell the Chinese phone maker's new Mate 10 Pro in
the US isn't sitting well with some in Washington, DC, Android Police
says.
By Stephen Shankland
Political pressure may have interfered with a second deal by Chinese
tech giant Huawei to sell its phones in the United States, this time
with Verizon Wireless.
On Monday, news emerged that AT&T pulled out of a deal to sell the
Huawei Mate 10 Pro, and The Information reported the deal had been a
victim of congressional pressure. Now, on Tuesday, as Huawei touted
the Mate 10 Pro at the CES tech show in Las Vegas, Android Police
reported similar pressure on Verizon.
