Subject: Verizon's pay TV subs sink to lowest point in a decade
by Ben Munson
Verizon posted another quarter of Fios Video subscriber losses and now
the company's pay TV customer base has shrunk to its lowest point in
10 years.
The company reported 82,000 Fios Video net losses during the first
quarter of 2021, dropping its total to approximately 3.77 million. As
Variety pointed out, that's the smallest Verizon's Fios Video
subscriber base has been since the first quarter of 2011, when it sat
at approximately 3.66 million.

Subject: Verizon still expects TracFone deal to close in 2H of 2021
by Monica Alleven
Although multiple entities are calling on regulators to impose
conditions on Verizon's nearly $7 billion acquisition of TracFone,
executives continue to believe the deal will close in the second half
of this year.
Asked about progress on the deal and what's happening in Washington,
D.C., Verizon CEO Hans Vestberg said during Verizon's quarterly
conference call on Wednesday that the expectation is the same as it
was when the transaction was announced last fall.

Subject: Verizon's Slumping Video-Subscriber Numbers: Here's What A
Post-TV Provider Looks Like
By Rob Pegoraro
Verizon lost another stadium's worth of Fios TV VZ -1.1% subscribers
in its first quarter, which made it much like the four quarters before
it--make that, the four years before it.
With 82,000 video subscribers leaving in Q1 of 2021, per Wednesday's
earnings release, Verizon's fiber-optic service is now down to 3.772
million TV subscribers--even while its broadband customer base grew to
6.3 million in this quarter.
