Subject: Lumen strikes edge compute deal with T-Mobile
by Diana Goovaerts
Lumen Technologies (formerly CenturyLink) made a major move to boost
its fledgling edge compute service, striking a fresh deal with
T-Mobile US that will allow it to tap the operator's 5G network to
reach more enterprise customers.
David Shacochis, Lumen VP of Enterprise Technology and Field CTO, told
Fierce the partnership aims to leverage "the best of what both
companies have to offer," combining its own business-grade fiber and
edge computing capabilities with "the massive geographic and spectrum
reach of T-Mobile."

Subject: Refreshing Relief Or Return Of The Robocalls?
by Chadwick A. McTighe , Neal F. Bailen and Jeffrey S. Moad
In a long-awaited decision, the United State Supreme Court issued a
ruling in Facebook, Inc. v. Duguid, No. 19-511, on April 1, 2021,
concluding that, to qualify as an autodialer under the Telephone
Consumer Protection Act ("TCPA"), a device must have the capacity to
use a random or sequential number generator to store or to produce
phone numbers. In other words, in contrast to what some courts had
concluded, it is not enough for the device simply to be able to store
and then automatically dial numbers. This decision resolved a Circuit
split in interpreting the TCPA and settled a debate among at least
four different interpretations of the autodialer definition.

Subject: Paying no taxes
On the Sunday news shows, Republicans were slamming Biden's
infrastructure/public works plan to rebuild roads, bridges, ports,
airports, railways, internet, electrical grid, etc.
His plan taxes the rich, and raises tax rates for big companies
... basically overturning Trump's / Republicans' 2017 tax cuts for the
rich. When asked how they would pay instead of taxes, the Republicans
have no answers.
