On 7 January 1996, you suggested that "anyone who wants to
send in something fairly detailed about their own area
code can do so."

Here's my contribution, hopefully intact this time:

414 Wisconsin, southeast: Appleton, Beaver Dam, Fond du Lac,
Green Bay, Jefferson, Kenosha, Manitowoc, Menomonee Falls,
Milwaukee, Oshkosh, Racine, Sheboyan, Sturgeon Bay, Watertown,
Waukesha, West Bend, Whitewater, Door County.

608 Wisconsin, southwest: generally everything southwest of
Interstate 90, including Baraboo, Beloit, Dodgeville, Janesville,
La Crosse, Lake Delton, Madison, Prairie du Chien, Tomah,
Wisconsin Dells.

715 Wisconsin, northern: Ashland, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire,
Lac du Flambeau Indian Reservation, Marinette, Marshfield,
Menomonie, Merrill, Minocqua, Neillsville, Stevens Point,
Superior, Wausau, Wisconsin Rapids, Menominee County.

P.S: Yes, the spellings of Menomonee Falls, Menomonie, and
Menominee County have been verified.
