The City of Cambridge, Masssachusetts in partnership with MIT, Cambridge Health Alliance, Cambridge Housing Authority, Harvard, and volunteers from the community, is embarking on a project to provide wireless coverage to many residents via a mesh network. This service will, resources permitting, be free to all residents of Cambridge and their visitors. It is currently in the proof of concept phase with a usable pilot expected later in 2006 and into 2007. |
