That's a pretty lame sales tactic. He should have pointed out that Cox's service has real 911, real operators, real battery backup so it works when the power fails, and includes a real phone book listing. Poking at their web site, I'm surprised to see that they don't bundle long distance so if you don't like their not particularly cheap LD service, you can use someone else's.
