Done properly, you get the best of both worlds: full value for the property and ongoing lease payments, with the option to sell the lease in the future should you desire. Selling a property and cell lease together will rarely yield the full value for the lease; however, selling the lease in advance of selling the property may also not be attractive. You may not have other places to invest the proceeds where you will get the same return, for example, and taxes can take a big bite. Additional options, such as 1031 like-kind exchanges, are complicated with short deadlines. https://www.natlawreview.com/article/retaining-cell-tower-lease-when-selling-property -- Bill Horne (Please remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly)

Greenbaum The Federal Trade Commission announced ... https://www.ftc.gov/news-events/news/press-releases/2022/05/ftc-hold-virtual-event-protecting-kids-stealth-advertising-digital-media ... that it plans to hold a virtual event to examine "how best to protect children from a growing array of manipulative marketing practices that make it difficult or impossible for children to distinguish ads from entertainment in digital media." The event, which will be held on October 19, 2022, will look at practices such as "the rapidly growing 'kid influencer' marketplace in which the line between paid promotions and unsponsored videos is often blurred." https://tinyurl.com/2h5afpeb -- Bill Horne (Remve QRM from my email address to send me email directly)

Even before then, I latched onto friendly order writers and the few repair techs that could handle writing an order for me as long as there was an active BTN to bill against. But they are all moved on now. Then again last time I priced it, in this CenturyLink area, a BRI is MRC of $79 + CALC, so not exactly friendly pricing, even if you do end up with two lines. (And woe be on you, if you want something reasonable, like hunting between those two channels/lines in Centurylink land). I don't see ISDN technology going away, because the basis of BRI are some of the very same protocol suite in use on PRI, and PRI is a very active business. But BRI line cards could be gone as wasting space on the switches. -- Doug McIntyre doug@themcintyres.us
