Subject: Carroll County Sheriff's Office Warns Of CenturyLink Scam
Reports
The Carroll County Sheriff's Office issued a scam warning today
(Monday) concerning fraudulent bills appearing to come from an
internet service provider. According to law enforcement, residents in
the area have reported receiving a legitimate-looking invoice from
CenturyLink. Included with the bill is an order confirmation letter
indicating the recipient had registered for some form of service.

Subject: Documentary About 1975 New York Telephone Fire
I've received a URL for a documentary that describes the repair effort
which followed the 1975 New York Telephone fire that gutted the
13th St. building on 2nd Ave in New York City.
I'd like to see opinions on whether the repair effort could be
duplicated today, or if, given newer technology, it would even be
necessary.

During the drive down State Road 72 from Sarasota to DeSoto County,
strip malls fade away, traffic gets lighter and nature begins to take
hold. The congested rush of the city is replaced by Myakka River State
Park, followed by pastoral farmland. It's a green and tranquil ride,
aside from a couple sections of rough road.

Subject: Salt Lake Valley UDOT Construction Was Responsible for
Internet Outages in the Wasatch Back

Construction crews working on I-15 along the Wasatch Front near Draper
damaged utility lines on Monday, disrupting internet service for AT&T
and Centurylink customers. Customers of Wicked Fast internet in Park
City were also affected.
