This resulted in customers experiencing intermittent access to Office 365 and also deleting several database records. This comes just after a major outage that prevented Microsoft 365 users from accessing their emails for an entire day in Europe. https://hub.packtpub.com/microsoft-cloud-services-dns-outage-results-in-deleting-several-microsoft-azure-database-records/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190204203006.GA4101@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2019 15:30:06 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: CenturyLink Outage, AT&T Layoffs, Avaya Engage Lead January's Top 12 January marked a big month for traffic to our site, with many of you eager to see some bad news (layoffs and network outages) but also good (new hires and new technologies to sell). The biggest layoff news concerned AT&T, while CenturyLink was at the heart of the outage news. Plantronics offered up a whiz-bang new product that stemmed from its massive Polycom acquisition, and Five9 hired a Cisco vet as its new CTO. https://www.channelpartnersonline.com/gallery/centurylink-outage-att-layoffs-avaya-engage-lead-januarys-top-12/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190204203618.GA4139@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 4 Feb 2019 15:36:18 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Telefonica joins AT&T in announcing Mexico 2G network shutdown Telefonica, which operates under the Movistar brand in Mexico, has officially notified telecommunications regulator IFT that it plans to switch off its 2G mobile service this year, reports business daily El Economista, citing IFT General Coordinator of User Policy Alfonso Hernandez Maya. The same paper last month reported that rival AT&T has likewise informed the IFT of plans to suspend its 2G service with a view to freeing up spectrum and increasing the capacity of its 4G LTE network. https://www.telecompaper.com/news/telefonica-joins-atandt-in-announcing-mexico-2g-network-shutdown--1278960 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Tue, 05 Feb 2019
