Associate Planner Katie Crockett told San Clemente Times on Tuesday, Nov. 12, that the telecommunications company agreed to postpone its proposal until the city's ordinance is in place, which could be around mid-March - the deadline for when the city must either deny or approve the installation of the sites. https://www.sanclementetimes.com/att-temporarily-tables-plans-for-cell-sites/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <5a8cbcab-9919-417f-ba6c-d71ece6dc5b6@googlegroups.com> Date: 12 Nov 2019 11:24:26 -0800 From: HAncock4 <withheld@invalid.telecom-digest.org> Subject: History speed dial 1965 Bell offered two devices for speed-dialing. The first was a magnetic tape device with a high capacity. The caller would speed through an indexed directory. Known as Magicall. The second was using a plastic punched card that was inserted in a reader. Known as the Card Dialer. Here's an ad for them: https://archive.org/details/Nations-Business-1965-10/page/n1 Also, on pg 16 of the same issue is an ad by Executone for an intercom. A benefit was taking internal traffic away from the expensive rented telephone company system. Opposite (pg 17) is a summary ad by General Telephone & Electronics. In fine print it mentions its Automatic Electric subsidiary. ------------------------------ Message-ID: <A22B4CE8-F37F-40BA-A778-E5B0A2203E90@roscom.com> Date: 13 Nov 2019 00:24:15 -0500 From: "Monty Solomon" <monty@roscom.com> Subject: Judge Limits Phone Searches at U.S. Borders Judge Limits Phone Searches at U.S. Borders Federal agents must have reasonable suspicion of a crime before examining electronic devices at airports, other crossings https://www.wsj.com/articles/judge-limits-phone-searches-at-u-s-borders-11573603036 ------------------------------ Message-ID: <0A607188-6E65-47E0-B19B-20549D766C6D@roscom.com> Date: 13 Nov 2019 00:35:59 -0500 From: "Monty Solomon" <monty@roscom.com> Subject: U.S. Government Is Tripping Over Itself in Race to Dominate 5G Technology U.S. Government Is Tripping Over Itself in Race to Dominate 5G Technology Different parts of the government are fighting over spectrum space, threatening to undermine the country's efforts https://www.wsj.com/articles/u-s-government-is-tripping-over-itself-in-race-to-dominate-5g-technology-11573527840 ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Thu, 14 Nov 2019
