(WCSC) - People who live in a rural part of Georgetown County say they have gone nearly a month without landline phone or internet service. Residents of the Saint Luke and Rose Hill community say the service provider, Frontier Communications, is aware of the issue, but say they have not fixed the problem. https://www.live5news.com/2019/10/29/georgetown-county-community-frustrated-by-ongoing-phone-internet-outage/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20191031212702.GA30799@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2019 21:27:02 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Consumer Advice: Frontier Will Send You A Check - If You Insist Frontier's refund policy A reader called to say she was due a refund of $19.82 from Frontier Communications after closing her account. Rather than receive a check as she was expecting, she was sent a wirecard instead. It's a type of prepaid Mastercard that can be used anywhere Mastercard-branded debit cards are accepted. But here's the problem: The card carries a monthly service fee of $3. The reader no longer drives, so she doesn't get out much. If it takes three months for her to use the card, it will be worth only $10.82. https://www.cdapress.com/terri_dickerson/20191031/consumer_advice_frontier_will_send_you_a_check__if_you_insist -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20191031213702.GA30960@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2019 21:37:02 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Hedge Fund Manager Urges Frontier Bankruptcy to Preserve Value Citrone's Discovery Urges Frontier Bankruptcy to Preserve Value By Allison McNeely Frontier Communications Corp. should file for bankruptcy sooner rather than later to get ahead of deterioration of the business and "cracks" in U.S. credit markets, according to Robert Citrone's hedge fund. https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2019-10-28/citrone-s-discovery-urges-frontier-bankruptcy-to-preserve-value -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Sat, 02 Nov 2019
