Baig AT&T has the "nation's best network" according to a study released Wednesday by Virginia-based Global Wireless Solutions, an independent testing firm. Verizon was the runner-up, followed by would-be merger partners T-Mobile and Sprint. It was the second straight year in which AT&T snagged GWS's top honors. https://www.usatoday.com/story/tech/talkingtech/2019/09/04/att-has-best-wireless-network-study-says-but-verizon-wins-other-tests/2201118001/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190904190703.GA28555@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Wed, 4 Sep 2019 19:07:03 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: AT&T's confusing mess of online TV services even has AT&T confused AT&T forgot that "AT&T TV" and "AT&T TV Now" are different services. By Jon Brodkin AT&T recently made the baffling decision to offer two separate streaming TV services with nearly identical names and to deliver those two distinct services through one app. This obviously had the potential to confuse consumers, as we wrote in our coverage in July. But it has turned out even worse than we expected, because AT&T itself has been calling one of the services by the wrong name in its communications with customers. https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/09/atts-confusing-mess-of-online-tv-services-even-has-att-confused/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190904191528.GA28687@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Wed, 4 Sep 2019 19:15:29 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: WI: Phone troubles impacting AT&T, Charter customers Eau Claire (WQOW) - Some AT&T and Charter customers in the Chippewa Valley say they are having phone troubles and not able to make or receive certain phone calls. Some AT&T callers say they can't get through to Charter customers, but Charter customers can get through to AT&T callers. The problem impacts both landlines and cell phones. https://wqow.com/news/top-stories/2019/09/03/phone-troubles-impacting-att-charter-customers/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Fri, 06 Sep 2019
