The proposed class action suit was filed on behalf of all AT&T wireless customers from 2011 to date. The suit alleges that AT&T sold customers' location data to LocationSmart and Zumigo, third party service providers that provide location-based services to corporations without AT&T customers' consent. Wireless companies agreed to limit the sale of location data last year at the request of several members of Congress. https://www.natlawreview.com/article/att-sued-ca-customers-selling-location-data-to-aggregators -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <B6232E3C-398D-4F56-929D-DF1BA03EB67F@roscom.com> Date: 16 Jul 2019 18:50:00 -0400 From: "Monty Solomon" <monty@roscom.com> Subject: The 5G Health Hazard That Isn't How one scientist and his inaccurate chart led to unwarranted fears of wireless technology. In 2000, the Broward County Public Schools in Florida received an alarming report. Like many affluent school districts at the time, Broward was considering laptops and wireless networks for its classrooms and 250,000 students. Were there any health risks to worry about? The district asked Bill P. Curry, a consultant and physicist, to study the matter. The technology, he reported back, was "likely to be a serious health hazard." He summarized his most troubling evidence in a large graph labeled "Microwave Absorption in Brain Tissue (Grey Matter)." https://www.nytimes.com/2019/07/16/science/5g-cellphones-wireless-cancer.html ------------------------------ Message-ID: <bf70fa45-e14e-4676-a536-9ac189c8600c@googlegroups.com> Date: 16 Jul 2019 13:09:44 -0700 From: HAncock4 <withheld@invalid.telecom-digest.org> Subject: Telemarketer scam warning The Philadelphia Inquirer reported that Pa. regulators say electricity telemarketers are using "harassing and intimidating" tactics to get customers to switch power suppliers, including false threats of shutoff. article at https://www.inquirer.com/business/energy/pennsylvania-puc-harassing-threatening-electricity-telemarketers-20190716.html [I've been flooded with robocalls urging me to "switch" electric suppliers, and I'm not even an electric customer.] ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Thu, 18 Jul 2019
