The dividend yield is once again in the double digits. Billy Duberstein (TMFStoneOak) 2019 has not been kind to CenturyLink (NYSE:CTL) investors. Of course, neither was 2018. Or 2017. Since touching highs over $40 in 2015, the stock has been on a slow and steady descent to just under $10 today. Revenue pressures in legacy technologies such as voice landlines and declining prices for wholesale fiber sales have caused revenues to decline. That, combined with a high debt load, has caused investors to flee. The company also surprised investors with a dividend cut on its first-quarter conference call, leading many yield-seekers to sell. https://www.fool.com/investing/2019/05/25/near-an-all-time-low-is-centurylink-a-buy.aspx -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190527152624.GA2871@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 27 May 2019 15:26:24 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Telcos including AT&T under fire for support of Alabama Republicans behind abortion ban in US state Calls for boycott of AT&T and others. Telcos including AT&T are under fire for their campaign contributions to Rpeublicans in Alabama who voted to effectively make abortion illegal in the southern US state. Social media users around the world have called the companies out, with some users calling for a boycott. The bill - passed entirely by white men - has been condemned worldwide. It was passed earlier in May. https://www.commsmea.com/business/19465-telcos-including-att-under-fire-for-support-of-alabama-republicans-behind-abortion-ban-in-us-state -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20190527151856.GA2785@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 27 May 2019 15:18:56 +0000 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: AT&T Begins Accepting Cryptocurrency Payments By Adnan Farooqui The country's second largest mobile carrier, AT&T, has announced that it will now accept cryptocurrency payments. That's good news for those who use digital currencies to manage their affairs but not so much for anyone else who don't really have any incentive to trade their real money for cryptocurrencies. AT&T says that it's the first carrier in the country to start accepting cryptocurrency payments. https://www.ubergizmo.com/2019/05/att-begins-accepting-cryptocurrency-payments/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Tue, 28 May 2019
