The city and the company have agreed to hold off on further installation of new equipment until four public informational meetings, starting this week, and a study session before the City Council. http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/8023917-181/verizons-4g-rollout-paused-in -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180226022217.GA9322@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2018 21:22:17 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Verizon offers response to T-Mobile's unlimited plan for customers over 55 years old Verizon is offering a plan for customers in Florida who are 55 years old and over that provides a single line of unlimited service for $60 per month or two lines for $80 per month. The company declined to say whether it would expand the offering beyond Florida. Verizon's new offer, first noted by Wave7 Research, is a clear response to the success of T-Mobile's similar offering. Introduced last year, T-Mobile is offering customers 55 and old a single line of unlimited service for $50 per month and two lines for $60 per month. https://www.fiercewireless.com/wireless/verizon-tests-response-to-t-mobile-s-unlimited-plan-for-customers-over-55-years-old -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <1D2A7D2F-130B-42F1-B53D-7F231BEB34CD@roscom.com> Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2018 00:33:09 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: All but Banned in the U.S., Chinese Giant Huawei Is Welcomed in Britain All but Banned in the U.S., Chinese Giant Huawei Is Welcomed in Britain Britain's adoption of Huawei technology is widening a gulf between the U.S. and allies over cybersecurity https://www.wsj.com/articles/huaweis-u-k-relationship-raises-u-s-concerns-1519416947 ------------------------------ Message-ID: <F13172A1-D599-4BFF-9003-CD76DB04AC76@roscom.com> Date: Sun, 25 Feb 2018 00:31:14 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: Wireless Companies to Start Small With 5G Rollouts Wireless Companies to Start Small With 5G Rollouts Verizon, AT&T, others expect to offer services this year, but most fall short of carriers' visions of what 5G ultimately will be https://www.wsj.com/articles/wireless-companies-to-start-small-with-5g-rollouts-1519480800 ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Mon, 26 Feb 2018
