In all, 364 inmates allegedly exploited the tablet's software for $225,000. JPay handheld computer tablets supplied to Idaho prisoners provide a means to email families and friends, video chat, watch educational videos, and download and play purchased games and music. The tablets, which are supplied by contract with CenturyLink and JPay, do not allow internet access. https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/inmates-hack-jpay-tablets/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180729043435.GA20428@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2018 00:34:35 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: CWA files NLRB case against Centurylink There isn't a lot of detail to go on: the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) requires those seeking details to file an FOIA (Freedom Of Information Act) request. https://www.nlrb.gov/case/18-CA-224566 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180729045614.GA20539@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 29 Jul 2018 00:56:14 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: The Consumer's Guide to Spectrum's Possible Demise in New York State By Phillip Dampier New York's Public Service Commission on Friday set the stage for 'an orderly transition' ending Spectrum's brief life in New York, to be replaced with a 'to be announced' new cable operator to serve the needs of New York subscribers.
