But the telecom giant is now saying that it will raise the price of DirecTV's online streaming service, DirecTV Now, by $5 a month for new and existing customers. The decision affects all service tiers of the product, according to Cord Cutters News, which first reported the change. That brings the base tier to $40 per month and the topmost tier to $75. In a statement, AT&T said its decision was driven by industry trends. http://www.latimes.com/business/hollywood/la-fi-ct-att-directv-now-price-20180703-story.html -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180703164249.GA24430@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Tue, 3 Jul 2018 12:42:50 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Global Colocation Market 2018 Analysis by 2023 Global Colocation Market 2018 Analysis by 2023: Cyrusone, 21Vianet, Switch and Windstream By Chris Hayden This report examines the global Colocation economy size, industry status and prediction, contest landscape and increased prospect. Incumbent telcos, led by their trade association United States Telecom Association (USTelecom) , asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in May to dispense with rules that require them to resell their last-mile connections to customers to competitive carriers as unbundled network elements (UNEs) at prescribed wholesale rates, claiming competition is well established already. It was the access to these UNEs and the guarantee of cost-effective connectivity that spurred the telecom boom in the late '90s, with an explosion of fiber network construction. https://www.lightreading.com/regulation/fcc-poised-to-gut-96-telecom-act/d/d-id/744398 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Wed, 04 Jul 2018
