Subject: Online Guides – The Trojan Horse Of ICT Contracts
by Laura F. H. McDonald
Most enterprise telecommunication contracts contain terms that are quite
unfriendly to the customer. That’s because these unfavorable terms are
hidden in the carrier’s online terms known as service guides, guides,
service publications, and other benign terms.
Listen to this 12-minute podcast as Laura McDonald, a Senior Partner at
LB3, and TC2’s Joe Schmidt provide a brief history of how telecom
services have moved from tariffs to today’s negotiated deals, how the
carriers' online terms work, and what you can do to mitigate some of the
risk the online guides pose to your contract.

The breach exposed information like names, addresses and phone numbers
and lasted more than a month, the company reported in a securities filing.
By Niraj Chokshi
T-Mobile said on Thursday that a hacker had collected data, including
names, birth dates and phone numbers, from 37 million customer accounts,
the company’s second major breach in less than two years.

AT&T Can Apply for a Payment from the FTC
Those who had unlimited data plans with AT&T between 2011-2015 may be
eligible.
The Federal Trade Commission opened a claims process for former AT&T
customers who have yet to claim a refund stemming from the FTC’s
lawsuit against the company for misleading consumers about its
unlimited data plans.
Former AT&T customers may be eligible to claim a refund from the $7
million remaining in a fund created to settle allegations that the
wireless provider charged for “unlimited” data plans while reducing

Subject: Unpacking the math behind AT&T’s 5G and fiber spending
By Mike Dano
AT&T executives have made it clear that the company’s network-spending
priorities center on expanding its 5G and fiber networks. However, the
exact details of that effort have sparked consternation among some
financial analysts tasked with modeling AT&T’s capital expenses (capex).
“AT&T has emphasized the expansion of the company’s fiber footprint as
core to the company’s strategy going forward. We believe, though, that
the company’s fiber build pace has likely peaked, and is likely to slow
from 2022 levels going forward,” wrote the financial analysts at
Evercore ISI in a recent note to investors.
