Subject: FAQs On FCC's Mandatory Information Collection Requirement
For All International Section 214 Carriers
by Chip Yorkgitis and Winafred R. Brantl
At its April 20, 2023 Open Meeting, the Federal Communications
Commission ("FCC" or "Commission") adopted an Order imposing a
one-time ownership-related data request to which all holders of
Section 214 authority to provide international telecommunications
services (i.e., common carrier services between U.S. and
non-U.S. points) ("International 214 Holders") must respond ("Data
Request"). The due date is not yet known because the Order must first
be reviewed and approved by the Office of Management and Budget
("OMB") because responses to the data request will involve data
collection by the FCC. Noncompliance will subject International 214
Holders to potential monetary and other penalties up to and including
license revocation.

Subject: What's New In Wireless - May 2023
by Angela Y. Kung , T. Scott Thompson and Christen B'Anca Glenn
The wireless industry has revolutionized the way we connect, from
facilitating teleworking, distance learning, and telemedicine to
allowing the American public to interact virtually in almost all other
aspects of their daily lives. Leading policymakers – federal
regulators and legislators – are making it a top priority to ensure
that the wireless industry has the tools and resources it needs to
keep pace with this evolving landscape. This blog provides monthly
updates on actions by federal regulatory bodies responsible for
communications policy and Congressional efforts to support wireless
connectivity. And this month, we highlight the opportunity for
interested parties to obtain up to $140.5 million under the Public
Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund for research activities related
to wireless network technologies.
