Subject: Phone carrier outage

UPDATE: No change in restoration of service through Verizon.
Phone outages reported with major carriers. The "My Verizon" app said a
"network disruption" was first detected at 9:37PM Saturday.
Repairs were started at about 11:30pm. The time to restore service is
currently estimated at 10:10pm tonight (Sunday). There was no word on
the cause.

Subject: AT&T power outages impact Dallas services, cause City
Council meeting cancellation

Updated April 19, 5:15 p.m.: As of 4 p.m. April 19, the city of Dallas
network has been restored, according to a city press release.
Original post: After experiencing power outages at City Hall, Dallas
City Council canceled its April 19 briefing meeting.
An AT&T power outage in downtown Dallas affected a number of services
across all city departments Wednesday morning. The outage prevented all
calls to the city’s 311 helpline from being received and halted all city
services requiring internet use. As of Wednesday afternoon, 911 calls
were not being impacted, officials said.

Verizon Communications Inc. is at the beginning of a new chapter once again.
The telecommunications company has yet another new leader for its
consumer business, and Verizon's (VZ) upcoming earnings, due out before
Tuesday's opening bell, could offer some early signs about whether the
company's strategy has changed amid the leadership shakeup.
